The Broadway season is just that - seasonal. It officially begins in June, but few plays premiere until fall. This year, theres just one. ... Off-Broadway is where the action is. Among the highlights:
Shakespeare in the Park (Delacorte): The New York Shakespeare Festival will present two highly anticipated productions in Central Park, both of which, of course, are free. Expect long lines for Liev Schreiber and Jennifer Ehle in the Scottish play, or for those not superstitiously inclined, “Macbeth” (June 13 to July 9), and for the amazing Meryl Streep in the title role of Brecht’s “Mother Courage and Her Children” (Aug. 8 to Sept. 3). ...
